In a news reported in “Straits Times”:http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking%2BNews/Tech%2Band%2BScience/Story/STIStory_388296.html today, SingTel apparently still holds an exclusive contract to sell the new “iPhone 3GS”http://www.apple.com/iphone/ that was announced yesterday at the WWDC 2009.
bq.. A SingTel spokesman said the company will reveal pricing details closer to the phone’s July launch date.
Consulting firm Gartner’s research director for carrier operations and strategies, Mr Foong King Yew, predicts that SingTel, which retained its exclusive deal for the uber-handset, will ‘sell the new model at about the same price…the value proposition is that you get more for less.’
p. What a dreadful piece of news to read at the beginning of the day. Might have to look for someone who wants to trade new phones if this “exclusive contract” still applies to SingTel.
