The “iPhone 5″:http://www.apple.com/iphone/ was announced this morning by Apple at the special event held in SF. It will be available for pre-order on 14 September, Friday and goes on sale the following Friday on 21 September. Without contract, the iPhone 5 can be purchased from Apple for S$948 for the 16GB, S$1088 for the 32GB and S$1238 for the 64GB model.
The iPhone 5 comes with LTE network support and for those who are planning to upgrade, it might be good to review all the various plans being offered by local telcos and consider whether it is worthwhile to buy with or without contract, especially since LTE coverage is flaky at best.
Besides the phone, you’d probably need to buy the new 9-to-30-pin adaptor to let you use your new iPhone 5 with your existing accessories. The adaptor costs S$42 while the one with a 0.2m cable, costs S$58.
